A message from James:
I'm part of Team MacRae because Mount Isa has been good to me and I want those families worried about the future to be able to enjoy the benefits this city has provided me.
I was born and bred in Mount Isa before leaving in my late-20s to live in Brisbane. I only moved to increase my opportunities in sport but my wife and I came back with a five-year plan and 20 years later have no desire to leave; this is our home. We need to encourage people to come and stay in Mount Isa. I believe that requires anybody here having the same opportunities as those on the coast. We want to grow the local economy, so businesses can invest and have an available workforce.
Our team will focus on standing up for local families by working to ease cost of living pressures and tackling crime.
Our team that will work to ensure council is efficient, proactive, community-minded and working together. We want all Mount Isa residents to feel valued and be at the forefront of every decision made. And we want every employee to feel valued and know they are working toward a unified goal.
I am enthusiastic about getting the message out that Mount Isa is a place to raise a family and be part of a welcoming and dynamic community. A good council can be a catalyst to grow a community we can be proud of and where people know they belong.
We are a united team and will work closely with the community and important stakeholders to get the best outcomes for Mount Isa. Mount Isa has always thrived thanks to its innovation - we want to empower the intelligence, creativeness and passion of our community to secure a bright future for our city.
