into a vibrant, liveable community that will attract

residents and visitors.

The last few weeks have been a challenging time for our

community. The announcement from Glencore is

devastating for the large number of local families directly

affected and will have flow-on impacts throughout our local economy.

We need to fight for the future of Mount Isa.

In the face of this challenge, our city needs fresh ideas and a plan for a better future - to grow the local economy, create new jobs, and make our community affordable, safe and liveable for local families.

We need leadership with a vision for Mount Isa.

We need leadership that will work constructively with the Council they lead and with the community to achieve real outcomes for local families.

We need leadership that has a plan to grow the economy through diversification, supporting local businesses and securing more jobs in the region.

We need leadership that will revitalise the city and enhance our local lifestyle.

We need leadership that will spend our rates responsibly and bring transparency to Council.

 

I’m passionate about Mount Isa. I’m proud of what I’ve delivered for our community as a local Councillor and what I’ve achieved as a local business owner. I have a plan for this city’s future. I’m ready to work with the community, listening to your ideas and delivering better outcomes for our region.

My husband and I are heavily invested in the community, both emotionally and financially, as are all the outstanding members of our community that I am honoured to say have agreed to join my team. Each one has contributed greatly to our city and is an expert in their own field.

Over the coming weeks we will be unveiling the team on our campaign Facebook page, Team MacRae for Mount Isa. Like and follow to stay updated on who is on the team and get to know who they are and what they stand for. All have either created successful businesses or worked to improve the community through volunteering leading sporting clubs and community groups. All have a track record of being great team players and high achievers.

 

What do I bring to the table?

Leadership experience, commerce experience, education, an understanding of the role of council and how with the right people it can achieve incredible results.

I have spent the last 26 years working towards improving our vibrant community as a youth educator, business owner, board member, volunteer and councillor and I’m excited to see what we can achieve next.

I would like to thank my husband, family, extended family and our community for supporting me on this journey of doing what I love.
